Cricket Scotland has today announced the ninth round of Cricket World Cup League 2, hosted by Scotland and set for Grange CC and Clydesdale CC, has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The postponement follows an announcement made by the International Cricket Council.

The six matches against Namibia and Nepal, due to be held between 4th July and 11th July, form part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 qualification process. Cricket Scotland will work with the ICC and other participating Members to identify when the postponed fixtures can be rescheduled.

ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley, said: “With ongoing international travel restrictions and global health concerns still in place and on government and public health authority advice in relation to COVID-19, we have decided in partnership with Members to postpone two further qualifying series which form part of the pathway to the Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023.

“We will now work with hosts and Members to find a window where they can be safely and practically rescheduled.”

Scotland currently sit third in the Cricket World Cup League 2 table. Click here for more information on the qualifying tournament.
