Wicket-keeper Matthew Cross has come through the Scotland system and another player from the Aberdeen region, and has represented his country at the U19 World Cup in Australia.
After a spell with Nottinghamshire, he is now with English county Essex for the 2017 season. He has played at for Scotland at two global events – 2015 ICC World Cup and 2016 ICC World T20 in India.
He made his ODI debut against Canada in 2014 and now an established member in the national side.
Also a handy footbally, Matt played for Aberdeen’s youth teams. 2016 sees Cross join the MCCU Programme for the 2017 season.
‘Crossy’ as he’s know to his team-mates is a keen golfer and big supporter of Aberdeen FC and Liverpool.
