A 15-man squad has been selected for Scotland A’s upcoming tour to face Ireland A in three 50-over and three T20 matches at Oak Hill CC in County Wicklow, Leinster.

Nine capped Scotland players are included in the squad.

The tour is Chris McBride’s second outing for Scotland A after being included in last week’s trip to Blackpool to face Lancashire 2nd XI.

McBride impressed after turning out for Durham Academy against Scotland’s Performance Academy at Uddingston in two 50-over clashes at the end of May.

Oli Hairs returns to Scotland A colours off the back of strong performances in the Tilney Pro50 for Eastern Knights, in which he finished the competition as leading run-scorer with 314 runs across five innings.

Adrian Neill will feature in the 50-over games only, being replaced by Tom Bradburn for the T20 leg.

Squad:

Tom Bradburn (Western Warriors, Stirling County CC)

Dylan Budge (Eastern Knights, Grange CC)

Scott Cameron (Caledonian Highlanders, Forfarshire CC)

Michael English (Western Warriors, Ribblesdale Wanderers CC)

Callum Garden (Caledonian Highlanders, Forfarshire CC)

Chris Greaves (Caledonian Highlanders, Forfarshire CC)

The tour comes just days after two T20 wins for Scotland A over Lancashire 2nd XI at Blackpool.

The first fixture, reduced to 18 overs per side due to rain, saw Scotland A’s 153-7 play Lancashire 2nd XI’s 150-5.

Dylan Budge (88*) top scored with Scott Cameron (4-0-29-2) the pick of the bowlers.

The second T20 again saw Scotland A to victory with a convincing 38-run win, thanks to Michael Carson’s 86 powering Scotland A to 177-5. Gavin Main impressed with the ball, picking up four wickets (4-0-29-4).
