Scotland recored a 90-run win over hosts UAE to claim a spot at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, to be held in Australia in October and November 2020.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Scotland put on an all-round performance with the bat and ball as George Munsey (65 from 43) and Richie Berrington (48 from 18) propelled Scotland to 198/6 at Dubai International Stadium before the bowling cartel caused UAE to crumble to 108 all out inside the 19th over.
Mark Watt and Safyaan Sharif both recorded figures of 3/21 to send Scotland to their fourth ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, backed up well by Evans, Davey, MacLeod and Berrington who all took a wicket each.
Scotland will now play on Thursday 31st October in a 5th/6th play-off spot. The opposition will be confirmed at the conclusion of the Oman vs. Hong Kong fixture.
