Start of WDCU delayed by Level 3 restrictions

The start of the Western District Cricket Union season, planned for this weekend, has been delayed due to the ongoing COVID restrictions in Glasgow. With Level 3 constraints remaining in place in the Glasgow City region until at least 24 May, the first round of league matches has been cancelled.

Although the other Authority areas covered by the WDCU have now moved to Level 2, no club, player or official is permitted to travel either to or from Glasgow City, and with the already truncated season making rescheduling a logistical impossibility, the league programme scheduled for 22 May has now been declared a ‘Covid Round’.
