Stormers host Eagles in two T20s this Sunday

The Stormers will be looking to take a firm grip on the Women’s regional series when they clash with the Eagles on Sunday in a T20 double header at Ferguslie Cricket Club. While the teams shared the spoils at Strathmore in the first T20 day, the 50 over victory at the start of the season see’s the Stormers in control of the series.

Emily Cavender and Becky Glen are back to bolster the Stormers batting, having missed the previous fixture. Isobel Couttie also comes in after performing for the Scotland Under 17s in their victories over Leicestershire last week. Skipper Lorna Jack is unavailable due to work commitments, so Rachel Scholes – fresh from a string of strong performances in Holland at the World T20 qualifier – will take over the leadership of the side.

There is a captaincy change for the Eagles as well, with Sarah Bryce taking over the reins from Katie McGill, who is unavailable due to a broken finger. With Kathryn Bryce still unavailable, the Eagles will look to Hannah Short, Charis Scott & Riti Patel to stand up with the bat, while former Scotland captain Abbi Aitken will spearhead a young Eagles bowling attack, which includes 13 year old Katherine Fraser, who has been a stand out performer for the team so far this year.

Approaching the halfway point in the series, it promises to be a pivotal day in potentially deciding the destination of the title. The matches begin at 11:00 and 15:00 respectively, and entry is free.
