Scotland’s Josh Davey has been making a good impression at Taunton where the all-rounder has forced his way into the first XI with some impressive performances. Since breaking into the team he has claimed the wickets of Haseeb Hameed and Kumar Sangakara.

Brad Wheal has had a strong start to the season for Hampshire enjoying a good run in the side.

Craig Wallace has also been representing Leeds-Bradford MCCU and performing well with the bat, scoring a combined 67 runs against Yorkshire and an unbeaten 75* against Worcestershire.

Both Gavin Main and Matthew Cross have been in good form for MCC YC’s down south.

Matthew Cross has continued his strong batting form at MCC YC, following his successful winter in Australia. In his final match in Melbourne, as captain of Tullamarine, he made his third century of the season down under, striking 111 following earlier centuries of 124 and 143 not out.

Matthew has now joined MCC YC, based in London, and is keeping and batting top order for MCC in all 3 formats, three-day cricket, 50 over and T20. He is the leading run scorer for MCC and has already struck 429 runs in the first few weeks of the season, batting at an average of 71 over eight innings. Including important knocks of 52, 75 and 75 against Middlesex, the Unicorns and Warwickshire. Last week Matthew captained MCC YC in two T20 matches against Leicestershire, top scoring in both matches with 67 not out and 64 in the County SET20 Championship.

Following his winning start to the season with Scotland ‘A’, Tom Sole recorded a half century for Northants 2XI against Derbyshire this week in a game which was reportedly stopped due to hail!

Chris Sole suffered a blow at the start of the season when he suffered a hand injury in a pre-season tour to Barbados with Hampshire. We wish Chris all the best in a speedy recovery.
