TAY LIONS TROPHY A SUCCESS

Cricket was the winner on Saturday as the Tay Lions hosted a successful festival of sport and culture on Perth’s North Inch.

The cricket carnival saw 16 teams from across Scotland compete for the Tay Lions Trophy in a six-a-side tournament, whilst Sri Lankan street food, live music and a bouncy castle brought a perfect end to the Scottish summer.

Live Active’s Jack Emslie said “It was a day of fast-paced action on the field with plenty of talent on show, and it was great to see the game played with smiles on everyone’s faces.

“The Tay Lions brought a fantastic atmosphere to the North Inch, with the DJ and entertaining certainly adding to the spectacle!

“A huge thanks must go out to the Tay Lions who organised the event and worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly.

“It was a successful tournament, and a great day for everyone who came along and enjoyed the festivities, celebrating the Sri Lankan culture alongside the sporting action.

The on-field success belonged to Girl’s Gang, who won the women’s tournament, and Dundee Friends, who triumphed in the Men’s competition.
