Two big games at the top of the Western Premier League take place this Saturday in week 14 of action.

Leaders Prestwick welcome fourth placed Clydesdale to the Henry Thow Oval and second place M8 Driving Ferguslie and third placed McCrea FS West of Scotland meet at Meikleriggs.

When Prestwick and Clydesdale last met in week five at Titwood it was a cracker, the former winning by just one wicket as 207-8 played 208-9.

Prestwick defeated Calero Kelburne last week while Clydesdale saw off Langside so both sides will be feeling good going into this one.

Euan McBeth returns from injury and replaces Ronan Alexander for Prestwick while Kallum Dhami replaces Scotland skipper Richie Berrington for Clydesdale.

Ferguslie and West will both want to keep up the pressure on Prestwick and a win is crucial this weekend for both and their respective title hopes.

Last time out Ferguslie were 162-6 versus Your Move Dumfries before bad weather saw the game abandoned while West’s game at SM Cricket Stirling County suffered from the same fate.

West bowled very well in week five when these sides last met as 128 all out played 129-6 at Hamilton Crescent.

For this important match Anup Vejandla comes into the Ferguslie XI.

Elsewhere in week 14, at the other end of the table bottom side Kelburne host seventh placed Ayr.

Jonny Baines and Mikey Maxwell come into the Ayr side for this one in place of Scotland spinner Hamza Tahir and Andi McElnea. Michael English skippers the visitors in McElnea’s absence.

Langside are ninth and they and eighth placed Stirling County meet in an important game at Albert Park.

Back in week five a brilliant 171 not out from Manas Sahare set-up County for a 67-run win in the corresponding fixture at New Williamfield.

Both will be keen to win this time to move further away from the bottom of the table.

There is a mid-table match at Bothwell Castle Policies as Tunnocks Uddingston takes on fifth place Dumfries. Skipper Bryan Clarke is back for the home side.

Saturday, July 30’s fixtures:

Calero Kelburne v Ayr (Whitehaugh)

M8 Driving Ferguslie v McCrea FS West of Scotland (Meikleriggs)

Langside v SM Cricket Stirling County (Albert Park)

Prestwick v Clydesdale (Henry Thow Oval)

Tunnocks Uddingston v Your Move Dumfries (Bothwell Castle Policies)
