Wee Bash off to a flyer

The first Wee Bash of the season was held at Hutchesons’ Grammar last Sunday (27th) with a record number of teams participating. This allowed a split into a “participation” tournament in the morning for new teams and an “experienced” tournament in the afternoon.

First-time teams East Kilbride CC, Forfarshire CC and Uddingston CC were joined by Clydesdale CC, Aberdeen Uni CC, Edinburgh South and Dundee & Angus in the morning enjoying their first taste of competition. East Kilbride CC and Uddingston CC were unbeaten, but most importantly everyone had a great time with lots of laughs,  celebrations and socialising when not playing.

The afternoon tournament with the more experienced teams saw seven clubs battling it out, with some fantastic skills on display. West of Scotland CC beat Stirling County CC in the final, with one of the Galloway teams beating Edinburgh Uni in the third-fourth place play off.

We were also delighted to welcome some representatives of our new partner of the Wee Bash the Royal Air Force. They are planning to attend each Wee Bash with fun activities to try in between games including the Batak reaction challenge as well as providing information on career opportunities for women and girls.

The next Wee Bash takes place on the 17th November at Broughton High School in Edinburgh. Please contact rosyryan@cricketscotland.com to register your team.
