A 13-strong squad has been selected for Wildcats A’s fixtures against Staffordshire and Derbyshire on Sunday 5th and Monday 6th May.

The 50-over fixtures, taking place at Audley CC and Marehay CC respectively, coincide with the current Women’s County Cricket Day campaign in England in which fans are encouraged to show support for their local county on Monday 6th May.

Steven Knox, Women’s National Coach, said: “The first road trip of 2019 sees the A team head to Staffordshire and Derbyshire for our first two 50 over games of the Division 3A campaign. Lois Wilkinson leads a team containing several Wildcats that aims to set a benchmark for what is a huge summer for the female game in Scotland.”

“With five Wildcats on duty for their counties down in England we effectively have eighteen players involved over the Bank Holiday weekend looking to find some early season form and build some confidence in advance of the T20 campaign which begins in June.”

“The 50-over A team programme of six games presents a great opportunity for the players in the wider squad to put into practice a lot of the skills they have been developing over the winter.”

15 year old Stormer, Ailsa Lister, will make her debut for the A team behind the stumps with Sarah Bryce and Ellen Watson on loan at Nottinghamshire and Berkshire respectively.”

Squad: Lois Wilkinson (c), Ikra Farooq, Laura Grant, Samantha Haggo, Ailsa Lister (wk), Abtaha Maqsood, Megan McColl, Katie McGill, Caitlin Ormiston, Hannah Rainey, Charis Scott, Rachel Scholes, Ruth Willis (Derbyshire only)

The squad will be supported by Steven Knox (Women’s National Coach) and Gordon Allan (Assistant Coach).
