Scotland Wildcats will prepare for their ICC World Cup European/Americas Qualifiers at Stirling with a couple of tough fixtures between Loughborough Lightning and England Academy following their ECB Division 2 fixtures.

The Wildcats currently sit in the relegation zone in Division 2, but two good performances against Worcestershire and Wales would give them a good chance of survival.

Abbi Aitken leads the side with Birmingham Bears batter Kathryn Bryce and Surry’s Priyanaz Chatterji back in their ranks for a tough test against the Academy and Lighting.

On the announcement of the squad vice-captain Kathryn Bryce said, “It will be great to see the team come together as we get closer to our series against Ireland and then into the European Qualifiers. We’ve had a few close defeats in the last couple of weeks [in Division 2] so it will be good to get back to the winning ways we were in last summer.

It will be quite a different squad from Sri Lanka, but the girls have been working hard back in Scotland so hopefully that will all pay off and we will start to see some consistency in our performances.”
