Beyond Boundaries Women’s Scottish Cup Draw 2017

The draw for the Women’s T20 Scottish Cup was made this week with some intriguing qualifying ties including a local derby with Carlton travelling to Myreside to play Watsonians.

Qualifying matches of the event will be played on 27th August with a finals day being held at Stirling County CC on Saturday 9th September. The finals day will incorporate the two morning semi-finals followed by the Final and 3rd /4th playoff in the afternoon.

Beyond Boundaries is a charity whose aim is to provide opportunities to advance health, community development and the advancement of public participation in sport. Their Trustees said “Cricket is a great example of a sport that promotes health and community participation regardless of gender, religion or race. We are excited to support the growth in women’s sport and we are looking forward to an exciting cricket tournament in the T20 format of the game.”

Nicola Wilson, Female Participation Manager said “The Women’s Scottish Cup has grown every year since the inaugural event in 2012 and we are delighted to have received sponsorship from the Beyond Boundaries charity. This will enable us to better promote the event and hold a finals day at Stirling CCC. The T20 format of the game provides a great opportunity for women to participate and compete with each other in a fast and exciting environment.”
