Cricket Scotland exists to promote, grow, support and govern Scottish cricket. Our vision is to inspire Scotland to choose cricket and we do that by supporting the different forms of the game within communities, schools and over 140 clubs throughout the country.

Cricket is a truly inclusive sport appealing to all regardless of age, gender, playing ability and culture.

As Cricket Scotland seeks to constantly grow our ability to support the delivery of cricket, we have several new roles available, some in partnership with other stakeholders.

  • Wicketz Development Officer – Glasgow based – £20,000 salary (plus expenses)

  • Forth Valley Development Officer – Stirling/Forth Valley based – £16,500 salary (plus expenses)

  • Aberdeenshire Development Officer (0.75FTE, 28hr/wk) – £12,250 salary (plus expenses)

  • North of Scotland Development Officer (0.75FTE, 28hr/wk) – £12,250 salary (plus expenses)

All roles will be for an initial one-year contract with the expectation these will extend, subject to funding.

Wicketz Development Officer – Glasgow based – £20,000 salary (plus expenses)

In partnership with The Lord’s Taverners (who are supported for this project by the Spirit of 2012 Trust), we will be expanding our current Wicketz programme to three Glasgow locations – Springburn, Govanhill and Pollokshields.

This exciting role seeks an energetic and experienced individual who can work with a diverse group of participants and deliver across a wide range of key priorities and objectives,. The role combines programme development with cricket coaching focused on the personal development of participants. The role will be responsible for engaging young people and recruiting volunteers from areas of deprivation/hard to reach groups into becoming active members of local Community Wicketz Hubs within Glasgow.

Forth Valley Development Officer – Stirling/Forth Valley based – £16,500 salary (plus expenses)

The role will be responsible for delivering cricket development activities to Cricket Forth Valley (and its partner clubs), in alignment with the Cricket Scotland Participation Plan.
The focus of this role will be on ensuring quality First Experience programmes in clubs and schools, Workforce Development, Club Support and collation of key club information. There will also be a component of the role servicing specific needs of the partner clubs within the context of the existing Cricket Forth Valley work plan.

Aberdeenshire Development Officer (0.75FTE, 28hr/wk) – £12,250 salary (plus expenses)

The role will be responsible for delivering cricket development activities to Aberdeenshire, in alignment with the Cricket Scotland Participation Plan.

The focus of this role will be on ensuring quality First Experience programmes in clubs and schools, Club Support and collation of key club information.

North of Scotland Development Officer (0.75FTE, 28hr/wk) – £12,250 salary (plus expenses)

The role will be responsible for delivering cricket development activities to the North of Scotland Cricket Association region (Huntly to Dingwall to Fort William, on occasion to other highland/island locations), in alignment with the Cricket Scotland Participation Plan.

The focus of this role will be on ensuring quality First Experience programmes (including female cricket), Workforce Development, Club Support and collation of key club information.

Workforce Development Manager – Edinburgh based – £25,000 salary (plus expenses)

The role will be responsible for delivering the Workforce Development section of the Cricket Scotland Participation Plan.

– Establish and implement a coach education programme to support cricket coaches with their own development journey
– Invigorate the Cricket Scotland Coaches Association as a body to support coaches and provide a collegial coaching environment
– Support Match Officials by assisting with a development strategy and programme of delivery
– Oversee a Cricket Scotland Leadership Programme to aid cricket’s integration into secondary schools
– Develop learning programmes for all other cricket volunteers to constantly develop and grow the capacity of the game.
