Arbroath looking to keep good run going

Two wins in the last two weeks have hauled Arbroath closer to some of their rivals at the bottom end of the Eastern Premier League table and made things very interesting.

Before week 12, the Lochlands men had not won a league game this summer, but fast forward a fortnight and – although still bottom – they have recorded victories over Stoneywood Dyce and Falkland.

On Saturday, in week 14 of 18, Arbroath will look to keep their purple patch going on the road to Forfarshire.

It will be a tough task at Forthill though as the Forfs have been in great form and are second now.

Marc Petrie returns to the visiting team for this one while, with Michael Leask on Scotland duty, James Sim comes into the Forfarshire XI that wo at RH Corstorphine last time out.

Falkland are just above Arbroath in the table and they are taking on third placed Gen!us Grange at Scroggie Park.

Ryan Jennings come into the home side while Grange make six changes to the side that saw off Stoneywood Dyce in week 13.

Preston Mommsen, Andrew Urmson, Matthew Knaggs, Harris Carnegie, Freddie Peet and Ryan Flannigan join the XI.

That loss at Grange left Stoneywood Dyce eighth and looking over their shoulder – this weekend they welcome sixth placed Watsonians to People’s Park.

George Ninan, Jon Grant and David Kidd are in for the home side with Xander Abbey and Tom Mullin joining the visiting XI after a win over Carlton in week 13.

Leaders Heriot’s host fourth placed RH Corstorphine at Goldenacre.

Key bowlers Niall Alexander and Joe Kinghorn-Gray are back for Heriot’s along with Scott Rarity.

Fifth placed Carlton host seventh placed Stewart’s Melville in the final game.

When the sides met earlier in the season at Inverleith, Stewart’s Melville edged a cracker as 148 all out played 150-9.

Saturday, July 30’s fixtures:

Forfarshire v Arbroath (Forthill)

Falkland v Gen!us Grange (Scroggie Park)

Stoneywood Dyce v Watsonians (People’s Park)

Carlton v Stewart’s Melville (Grange Loan)

Heriot’s v RH Corstorphine (Goldenacre)
