CS seek Non-Executive Board Director

Independent non-executive director
(voluntary – time commitment 7/10 meetings a year)

Cricket Scotland is the recognised governing body for cricket in Scotland, responsible for the progress and development of the game. Cricket is one of the most successful Scottish team sports on the world stage (with both our men’s and women’s teams being in the top 15 in the world) and one of the sports with the highest participation numbers in the country. Cricket in Scotland has a long tradition, having been played for over 200 years and across the country, and is enjoyed by participants and fans from all sections of Scottish society. It is amongst the most diverse sports in Scotland.

Cricket Scotland is currently seeking one non-executive director (preferably with no current formal links with any of its member clubs or associations) to join the board of the operating company which runs the business of cricket in Scotland.

This role requires an individual with strong non-executive director skills and especially the ability to bring her/his expertise and independent but constructive challenge to help Cricket Scotland deliver its ambitious strategy. Applications from individuals with legal skills would be particularly welcome.

Candidates will probably be individuals with experience as non-executive directors or as executives in significant public or private organisations.

The time commitment is expected to be approximately 6/7 board meetings a year (plus probably a committee position involving a further 3 meetings a year). There are also strategy meetings approximately annually. Board members are welcome and encouraged to attend Cricket Scotland matches and functions as well but it is recognised that will not always be practicable. The position is voluntary and unpaid though reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Cricket Scotland strongly believes in equal opportunities and will particularly welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Applications with a CV and the names of 2 referees should be sent to Tony Brian, Chair, Cricket Scotland Limited ( tonybrian@cricketscotland.com ) no later than 8 May 2018. Any further information can be requested by email to the same address.
