I have worked for Cricket Scotland since 2001, initially as a Development Officer, then Marketing Manager, and took up the role as Performance Development Manager in May 2007. The main responsibility of the role is to work on a full-time basis with the Performance Group, and as head coach to the Scotland U19 & U17 squads, but also to oversee the U15 and Regional Academy programmes. My ambition is to assist our best young players to maximise their potential and to develop skillful, confident and self aware cricketers for Scotland .
I learned my cricket at Kelvinside Academy and the West of Scotland cricket club, and also spent four winters in Australia playing and coaching. I was privileged to captain my country for five years and have represented Scotland in a playing capacity for the past 12 seasons. For the past five years I have played my club cricket for Greenock CC.
