Ferguslie keen to build on regional T20 win

M8 Driving Ferguslie won the Rowan Cup T20 final at Meikleriggs on Tuesday evening and they will again be at home on Saturday afternoon in the Western Premier League.

In the T20 final, Taimoor Ahmad made 40 and Haroon Tahir 33 as the home side posted 137 all out batting first versus Clydesdale.

The bowlers then did a brilliant job in the ‘second half’ to restrict Clydesdale to 130-8, Qasim Khan the standout with 3-9.

Not only did the seven run win give Ferguslie the Rowan Cup trophy, but they will also be playing at T20 national finals day at Stirling County’s New Williamfield ground on Sunday.

For now though all of their attentions are on the league as they sit second behind leaders Prestwick with six games remaining.

In week 13, Ferguslie are hosting fourth placed Your Move Dumfries.

The home side have named an unchanged league XI for this one after a win at Tunnocks Uddingston last time out. Dumfries lost at home to Clydesdale in week 12.

After an away win at Langside last time out, Prestwick are at home to bottom side Calero Kelburne this time around.

Ronan Alexander comes into the home side for Ross Kennedy while Kelburne Pashtoon Mohiaga and Andrew Miller join the visiting XI.

Third place McCrea FS West of Scotland are on the road to play eighth placed SM Cricket Stirling County.

The hosts have made a couple of changes for this one while when the sides met earlier in the campaign West won by 39 runs.

Clydesdale are fifth and will be keen to get over their Rowan Cup final defeat quickly when they welcome ninth placed Langside to Titwood.

Asad Khan has recovered from an injury and will be in the Langside line-up.

Seventh takes on sixth as Ayr host Uddingston.

Matthew Baines, Hamza Tahir, Lloyd Jefferson and Robbie Walsh re-join the Ayr XI for this one.

Captain Bryan Clarke, Fergus Clarke and Ziggy Ahmed are unavailable for Uddingston, so Ross Lyons skippers and Craig Smith, Harmanjit Singh and Nick Martin come into the side.

Saturday, July 23’s fixtures:

SM Cricket Stirling County v McCrea FS West of Scotland (New Williamfield)

M8 Driving Ferguslie v Your Move Dumfries (Meikleriggs)

Clydesdale v Langside (Titwood)

Prestwick v Calero Kelburne (Henry Thow Oval)
