Job Advert – Regional Strength & Conditioning Coaches

Cricket Scotland wishes to appoint a part-time Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Coach to each of the three regional programmes – Western Warriors, Eastern Knights and Caledonian Highlanders.

The Regional S&C Coach will be responsible for the athletic development of all non-contracted players, male and female, within their region.

The primary focus of the role will be to integrate athletic development into the existing skills development programmes alongside the Head Coach and skills coaches, and to provide additional S&C support to targeted athletes.

Core duties will include preparation and delivery of group coaching sessions throughout the winter, prescription and delivery of specific programmes to targeted athletes in collaboration with the National Lead S&C Coach and skills coaches, and in-season training/matchday support.

The regional coaches will report to the National Lead S&C Coach, and contribute to the development of the Cricket Scotland Sport Science and Medicine Team.

The successful applicants will be accredited members of UKSCA (or working towards accreditation), have experience of delivering effective physical preparation support to high performance and/or performance pathway athletes, and be committed to continuing personal and professional development. In addition, the role also requires PVG and basic life support certification.

Cricket Scotland’s High Performance Strategy is designed to achieve our agreed mission of becoming the next ICC Full Member. The S&C component of the Strategy is underpinned by the philosophy of developing fitter, faster, stronger and more consistent athletes. The appointment of regional S&C coaches is a key element in the delivery of the HP Strategy, the Performance Pathway Strategy, and qualification for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
