Kari Carswell has been appointed to lead Edinburgh South Cricket Clubs new Women’s Performance Section.

A former player and coach of the national team, Kari is returning to Scotland after a stint working in New Zealand.

This programme is a first of it’s kind for women’s club cricket in Scotland, and we believe sets a new benchmark for investing in the women’s game.   We are delighted to get this off the ground and to have someone as talented as Kari to help us lead it.   We hope to make a real difference to the development of talented individuals who have aspirations to be the best cricketers they can be.

We are taking applications to the new performance programme now.  It’s heavily subsidised, and in additional to intensive coaching from Kari throughout the 12 months, we’ll invest in tactical awareness, positive mindset and leadership training for all the players involved – making it one of the most innovative and exciting programmes available for aspiring female cricketers in Scotland.

There is no age range, but anyone applying should have relevant hardball experience with recognised talent, and either already involved in representative cricket or with ambitions to do so in the future.

Applications should be made in writing to Paul Reddish reddishpaul@yahoo.co.uk by Friday 16th March.  Applications should take the form of a letter or video explaining more about your cricketing background, aspirations for the future and how you think the programme can help you.   Full details in the attached brochure.
