2014 Cricket Factory Schools’ Cup
Cricket Scotland is delighted to be able to announce that Cricket Factory will, again, be sponsoring one of our National Schools’ Cup competitions - the 2014 Cricket Factory Schools’ Cup.
The aims of the Cricket Factory Schools’ Cup are to generate further interest in the game (for S1-S3 pupils), provide a competitive outlet for school cricket teams and provide an easy-to-run format of the game which can be played on any surface – indoor or outdoor.
Speaking to Cricket Scotland about their continued support of the competition Peter Gray of Cricket Factory commented “we see working with our Partners, Cricket Scotland, to raise the profile of Cricket in Education as a key part of our support in growing the game across Scotland. This is our second year supporting the ‘Schools Cup’ and we look forward to watching the fixtures and results come in as the competition commences in the new 2014 season”.
The competition will work on a regional format, with each regional winner being invited to take part in a National Finals’ Day. Finals’ Day will bring six schools from across the country together for one day of cricket at the picturesque Doo’cot Park, Perth, on Thursday 19th June.
Cricket Scotland’s Regional Participation Managers will be co-ordinating the regional competitions in their area. They will be encouraging cricket clubs to offer additional support to any schools that enter, in the hope of building longer term links between schools and clubs.
