Coetzer guides Scotland to victory
DY Patil 140/6 (20 overs) Mali 55, Davey 3/21, lost to Scotland XI 141/6, (20 overs) Coetzer 68*, Munsey 25 by four wickets.
A Scotland XI made the journey from Pune to Mumbai on Saturday for a fixture against DY Patil at the impressive Mumbai stadium.
Preston Mommsen lost the toss as the visitors were asked to field first. Josh Davey opened the bowling and collected the wicket of Ashok Kadam with 5 runs on the board.
Mark Watt and Gavin main also collected two wickets to leave DY Patil on 45/4 in the 9th over.
The home side then rallied with Aman Khan (23) and Sarresh Damle (29) and some impressive hitting from Vaibhav Mali saw him compile a 32-ball 55, as the home side finished on 140/6.
Davey finished with figures of 3/21 from his four over spell, ably backed up by Machan (1/13) and Gavin Main (1/22) and Mark Watt (1/26) to produce a disciplined display with the ball.
Calum MacLeod fell for 18 in the reply and was followed by Matthew Cross (4) Mommsen (9) and Machan (2).
George Munsey was again in runs as he bludgeoned 25 quick runs, while Kyle Coetzer remained composed throughout the innings, scoring 68*, to help his side to a comfortable victory.
“It’s always nice to get a few runs, but more importantly its our third win on the tour. Its been a tough challenge here, the guys have looked after themselves and to see us over the line is pleasing.”
Scotland will conclude their practice matches on Monday against CC of India at the Barbourne Stadium before moving on to Mohali for their two official warm up matches against Oman and the Netherlands.
