Cricket Force Launches This weekend
Cricket Scotland is excited to launch the inaugural `Jewson CricketForce` weekend this coming Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March.
The Jewson CricketForce Scheme is a club-based initiative aimed at rejuvenating Scotland`s cricketing facilities and promoting the profile of club cricket by encouraging cricket supporters, local communities, and their friends and families to volunteer to undertake renovations at their local cricket club in the lead up to the season.
By registering for the scheme clubs have had the opportunity to take advantage of numerous benefits provided by our CricketForce partners that include Jewson, Insuring Sport and Simpson & Partners.
The inaugural weekend will see Cricket Scotland supporting three great club events to help them complete their renovations and raise the profile of their club. The three clubs being supported are:
- Brechin Buccaneers
- Guthrie Park, Brechin, DD9 7BJ
- 28th Match 2015
- Marchmont CC
- Cavalry Park, Edinburgh, EH15 3QG
- 28th March 12.30-4pm
- Galloway CC
- Cally Woods in Gatehouse of Fleet
- 29th March 2015
These clubs will benefit from having Cricket Scotland players and staff attend their event to `muck in`, local press involved to promote their club, and profile provided from Cricket Scotland.
Ian Sandbrook, Acting Head of Community Development at Cricket Scotland, commented: “We are really looking forward to the first Jewson CricketForce weekend.
With the season just around the corner, this is a great opportunity to profile club cricket across Scotland and it has been great to see so many clubs register their event and take advantage of the benefits package we`ve tried to build. We hope all clubs involved have a great weekend and can kick start the 2015 season with a bang.”
Our headline sponsor Jewson, will also be running their fantastic `Building Better Communities` project with over £100k pledged to community regeneration projects that Scotland`s cricket clubs can apply for.
The competition will close for entries on 12th April 2015. For more information, terms and conditions, or to nominate a community project for Jewson transformation, visit facebook.com/JewsonUK or www.buildingbettercommunities.co.uk
