Cricket Scotland unveils new kit at World Cup
Cricket Scotland has unveiled its new playing kit for Scotland’s national team ahead of their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 (CWC) opening fixture.
The new kit has been designed for the international tournament and has unique design features. The front displays a proud saltire across the chest; the back lists all the cricket clubs in Scotland; and the sleeves are tartan, exclusively designed and registered as the Cricket Scotland tartan.
The exclusive Cricket Scotland tartan, designed and created by Pitlochry-based House of Edgar, is a striking combination of navy, azure and white.
The CWC takes place between 14 February 2015 – 28 March 2015, with Scotland’s group matches being played in New Zealand and Australia. Scotland’s first match will take place on 17 February against New Zealand in Dunedin on South Island.
The team have been given a warm welcome from the local constituency. They were given a traditional Maori welcome by the He Waka Kotuia kapa haka group, followed by several dignitaries.
The day was capped off with public greeting at the Dunedin Octagon with around 500 local residents, offering their well-wishes to the traveling party.
House of Edgar, who created the Cricket Scotland tartan said:
“The House of Edgar is delighted to be associated with the Cricket Scotland tartan which features on their shirts, and we wish the team all the best on their southern hemi-sphere adventures! We hope the new team tartan brings them good luck out on the cricket field!”
