Forty Club Annual Dinner - 2015

17 Dec

After playing two very successful and very entertaining matches against the Forty Club: Scotland District, the University of St Andrews Ladies Cricket Team received an exciting email from their Chairman and Cricket Scotland President, Colin Neill, at the beginning of the semester.

They had been awarded the Scotland District Club of the Year for embodying the spirit of the game. St Andrews have great connections now with the Forty Club.

Their world class wicket-keeper Alec Steele is regularly attending our practices to do some wicket-keeping workshops and Beth Caunce our captain has even played for the club in one of their last games of the season.

To accept the award, Beth Caunce and Maudie Cousins travelled down to London to the Forty Club’s annual dinner at Lord’s Cricket Ground. They had a fantastic night hosted by Alec Steele and were lucky enough to be able to go on a tour of the pavilion before the dinner which took place in the Long Room.

The evening was incredible and we were congratulated by so many on our achievements. We received a shield from Forty Club President John Barclay and this will be proudly displayed in the AU Trophy cabinet.
