Glasgow Academicals reach One and Fifty
Cricket Scotland would like to congratulate the Glasgow Academical Club on their one hundred and fiftieth anniversary.
To help celebrate the event a lunch and match between the President’s XI and the club was arranged for last Sunday.
At the lunch Cricket Scotland President Colin Neill congratulated the Glasgow club on their longevity and thanked them for their contribution to Scottish Cricket over that period. He wished them well in the future and hoped that they would last for another one hundred and fifty years.
Unfortunately the cricket match fell foul of the weather and had to be abandoned after 21 overs with Glasgow Accies 83-1, but not before Keith Young with an excellent one handed pick up and throw down of the stumps had accounted fro the Glasgow Academical captain.
The two teams took tea and reminisced about cricket past and present before abandoning their whites for the day.
Thank you to the Glasgow Academical Club for their hospitality and welcome and good luck for the future.
