Highlanders welcome rivals Reivers

12 May

The Highlanders and the Reivers do battle in Arbroath tomorrow (Monday) in a T20 that will see the best talent in Scottish cricket compete in the second week of the North Sea Pro Series.

In a weekend where much of Scottish domestic cricket was washed out, the players will be hoping for some dry spells on the East coast before play is due to start at 3:30pm.

After a shortened Scotland v England ODI at Mannofield on Friday, which was turned into an T20, both teams will be looking to assert themselves in the competition after defeating their Dutch counterparts in the T20 week one NSPS fixtures.

Both victories were convincing, with the Highlanders winning by 54 runs and the Reivers triumphing by eight wickets, and both teams will be looking to put on a show. In the Scottish Pro Series last year which was heavily affected by rain, the Reivers managed to win the two matches played from five scheduled.

Both teams have a mix and experience of youth on board and with his stunning performance in Aberdeen, Michael Leask will be one to watch for the T20, having already hit 62 runs in week one. One to watch for the Reivers will be Con de Lange who hit 40 not out in the T20 and 79 in the 50 overs game from week one. If the rain holds off, all factors point to this being a high scoring encounter.
