Ireland earned a 27 run victory over Scotland in the second round of warm up matches in Bangkok on Tuesday.
Isobel Joyce was the mainstay of the Irish innings, scoring an unbeaten 33*, while supported by Cecilia Joyce (21) and Dalton (20).
There were wickets each for Kari Anderson, Rachel Scholes and Samantha Haggo as a solid performance in the field restricted Ireland to 108/5.
A promising start by the Scots soon turned sour after being 30/0, they lost quick wickets to leave them on 33/6.
There was plenty of experimentation from the Scots as they look to find the right combinations ahead of their opening fixture against Papa New Guinea on Saturday.
Scholes struck 20 to lead the charge, and Haggo (10) and Anderson (14*) experienced a prolonged period of batting to take their team to within 27 runs of the target as their innings concluded.
At the end of the game Anderson said, “We are pretty happy with elements of our game at the moment. As a group we have adapted well to the heat and conditions and, I think, we are shaping up well going into the tournament.
All our members of the squad are getting a good run out in these games, and that is what we are looking for. We are learning and adapting to these new challenges. Of course, there are things we need to improve on but that’s what is exciting the squad at the moment.”
Scotland will have one more chance to hone their skills with a fixture against Zimbabwe tomorrow.
