Ireland Take Series After Washout
Scotland's cricketers were denied the opportunity to finish top of the table in the Triangular Series between themselves, Ireland and Afghanistan on Monday after heavy rain and thunder storms hit Dubai.
The precipitation meant the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled, which ensured Ireland would finish top of the table, despite their defeat to Afghanistan on Saturday.
The two captains did manage to get the toss completed, which Ireland won and had elected to field first. Scotland had named an unchanged side from the one that had completed a 150 run win over Afghanistan in their last outing.
Instead the players made use of the excellent facilities available at the nearby Dubai Sports City with a game of football.
The squad will now return home tomorrow, before flying out to Sydney as their 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup commences.
