Matthew Hoggard speaks at Aberdeenshire Association Dinner
Ashes hero Matthew Hoggard was the main speaker at the Aberdeenshire Cricket Association Annual Dinner and Prizegiving last Friday 6 November at the Holiday Inn, Westmill, Aberdeen.
130 guests enjoyed Hoggy's entertaining tales of his career with special mention of the legendary series against the Aussies in 2005 (including some lesser known insights!).
A special presentation was made to long serving Press & Journal cricket and rugby reporter, Jack Nixon, who retires shortly. Jack has been a great friend to cricket in the area. Tony Brian, Chair of Cricket Scotland, was delighted to be a guest at the dinner.
Colin Neill, the President of Cricket Scotland, and Tony were very pleased to attend the East of Scotland Cricket Association Annual Dinner on 9 October (with Colin giving the toast to the Association). And Malcolm Cannon, the Chief Executive, was delighted to be a guest at the North of Scotland Cricket Association Annual Dinner on 24 October at which Angus Fraser, the former England and Middlesex fast bowler, was the very entertaining principal speaker.
