Scotland return with World Cup Qualifying Trophy
The Scottish national cricket team arrived back into Glasgow Airport this morning with their newly claimed ICC World Cup Qualifying trophy on display.
They were greeted by a huddle of media and members of the public as they stepped off the plane, following two long days of travel.
The travelling party was not fazed by the welcome as Preston Mommsen and Calum MacLeod spoke to BBC Scotland, before the team was pictured by Donald MacLeod with the trophy.
Freddie Coleman and Preston Mommsen also spoke to the Cricket Scotland website before the team headed their separate ways and to be reunited with their relatives and loved ones.
“It was a very, very, very good five weeks for the team and cricket in Scotland.” Mommsen said, “We’ll take a couple of weeks out, just catch up and relax with the family before preparations begin for England up in Aberdeen”.
Freddie Coleman added, “It was a very successfull [campaign] and a very exciting one. It was good to be a part of.”
