Seafarers land to challenge Knights in North Sea 50 Final
Cricket Scotland and KNCB are pleased to announce that Dutch 50 over champions the South Holland Seafarers will travel to Scotland to take on Scottish 50 over champions Eastern Knights in the 2016 North Sea 50 Trophy Final.
The match will be staged on Thursday 1st September at New Williamfield, Stirling with an 11am start and free entry.
The final is a continuation of the ongoing North Sea Pro Series collaboration between the KNCB and Cricket Scotland, which this year sees the winners of the Netherlands Pro 50 Series taking on the Scottish champions in a one off winner takes all final.
Cricket Scotland Performance Director Andy Tennant said “We are delighted to welcome the Seafarers to Scotland for this year’s final and look forward to continuing the healthy rivalry. Continuing to develop the North Sea Pro Series is important for us and undoubtedly helps both nations to develop strong regional performance structures. We look forward to what I am sure will be an exciting and high quality final, with a good number of experienced internationalists and talented young players on both sides.”
The Seafarers will also play a 50 over warm up match against the Western Warriors on the previous day (Wednesday 31st August, 11am start) at the same venue.
Cricket Scotland have also announced that the final CS One Day Cup match scheduled for Sunday 28th August will not now take place.
