Secondary Schools Girls Competition 2014
The inaugural Secondary Schools Girls Competition took place at Stirling County CC on Monday 16th June, signalling the start of the National Schools Finals week.
Seven teams from across Scotland participated in the event. The standard of cricketing skills and knowledge was exceptional, as all teams improved significantly as the day went on.
The group games gave all any opportunity to familiarise teams with the rules. George Watson's College and Kyle Academy were winners and runners up of Group A, with Group B being headed by The Gordon Schools with Strathallan as runners up.
Kyle Academy won their semi final against The Gordon Schools and George Watson's College won a tight game, by 1 run against Strathallan.
The final was a repeat of a group A game with George Watson's College playing Kyle Academy. George Watson's compiled a score of 147 to run out winners by 19 runs as Kyle Academy scored 128.
Thanks to all who made the day so enjoyable.
