The Scotland U19 team bounced back from its opening day defeat to record a resounding 159 run victory over Zahira College in Colombo.
Batting first on a stifling day in the Sri Lankan capital solid contributions from captain Ross McLean, Michael English, Alex Baum and Nick Farrar saw the Scots amass 306 from their 50 overs. Despite the large total it was disappointing that the batsmen who got starts failed to push on to make a hundred.
In reply Zahira College were always up against it chasing more than a run a ball and lost regular wickets to a Scottish attack which showed more discipline than in the first tour match.
Mark Watt was the standout bowler in terms of figures with 5 for 34. U19 debutant Ryan Brown also bowled a tidy spell and other bowlers got valuable overs under their belts.
The Scots play a final practice match in Colombo on Friday before moving on to Dubai for warm-up games against Afghanistan and England ahead of their World Cup opener against Papua New Guinea.
