Warwickshire 2XI v Scotland A - Day 2
Scotland A looked to save their three day game with Warwickshire’s second eleven after being bowled out for 227 on the second day.
After the county had declared their first innings having amassed a formidable 400/4, a number of the Scottish batsmen, in reply managed to make starts but failed to convert their innings’ into a big scores.
Captain Preston Mommsen led the way with 44 before he was caught by fellow Scot, Freddie Coleman, with the score on 85/3.
Richie Berrington was another batsman to make a start, hitting 45 before Javid picked up his wicket. Leg-spinner Moneeb Iqbal dug in with an unbeaten 48, and along with contributions from Matthew Cross (26) and Andrew Umeed (24) the visitors finished their innings 173 runs behind with a day left to play.
It is expected that Warwickshire will apply the pressure with some aggressive batting during the morning session on day 3, to ensure that Scotland will have to bat well to ensure they get something from the game.
