The Western Cup

Titwood started their campaign with a comfortable win over Torrance House built on the back of a maiden 2nd XI century from Timothy Hart.  249 for 6 was always too much on a difficult damp pitch as Torrance House could only muster 74.

Glasgow Accies, weakened by exams and hockey, were shot out for only 75 by Whitehaugh who strolled to victory in double quick time.

On their competitive debut at this level, Hamilton made a more than respectable 191 at New Williamfield, but their bowling was to the home side's liking as a 7 wicket victory was secured by Stirling County 2s.

Vale of Leven continued a long tradition of punching above their weight by defeating an extremely young Weirs side at Millburn Park, chasing down 142 for the loss of 7 wickets to pick up a first win of the season.  Hillhead maintained their 100% record in that group by defeating Langloan at Hughenden.

Fraser Conn's 44 led Galloway to victory in a local derby against Nunholm.  The home side's 142 proving just enough as Nunholm were all out just 9 runs short as, elsewhere, Irvine took a stranglehold on the group by batting strongly for the second week in a row to post 217 for 7 against Meikleriggs who were well short in their reply.

Deanpark were the only other club to host a match at the end of a wet week and their efforts were rewarded with a comfortable 31 run win over Glenpark.
