Wildcats face Derbyshire and Durham

26 May

The Wildcats are back on the road this weekend, with two more fixtures in the ECB Royal London Women’s One Day Cup taking place on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th May against Derbyshire and Durham respectively.

The squad started the season with a good win over Norfolk, followed by a loss and a no result, so the squad will be looking to looking to put together two complete performances in both games after the disappointment of losing out to Gloucestershire in their last outing.

A couple of changes have been made to the squad travelling this weekend with Sarah Bryce and Liz Priddle both now available after having a delayed start to their seasons due to school and university examinations. Both players will add depth to the Wildcats batting order.

Ahead of their weekend departure captain Abbi Aitken commented, “It’s great to see both Sarah and Liz back in the squad for this weekend and we will be looking for them to help strengthen and assist our top order when we strive to improve upon our recent batting performances.

We’ve bowled and fielded relatively well in our first few games and I hope this will continue into the fixtures this weekend. We are well aware of what needs to be done to get back to winning ways so let’s hope we can take a positive and confident attitude into both fixtures this weekend."
