Wildcats look to seal T20 promotion
The Wildcats are back in action this weekend as they travel to Geddington CC to play Northamptonshire and Shropshire in the final round of games in the NatWest Women’s County T20.
The Wildcats currently sit top of the league so will be going all out to ensure they win promotion to Division 2.
There have been a number of changes to the squad that recently returned from the European Qualifier. Annette Drummond is now out for the foreseeable future with a broken wrist, while Abbi Aitken, Kathryn White & Rachel Scholes are also unavailable. Abtaha Maqsood, Briony Gillin and Alice Baldwin come in to the squad.
In the absence of Abbi Aitken, Kathryn Bryce will lead the team and is looking forward to it, “We’ve got a lot of momentum coming from last week against the Dutch that we can take into this weekend.
There are a few players unavailable so it is a good chance for others to come in this weekend and make a big impact. We have a great opportunity to make it an unbeaten season in the T20s and finish top of the table, so if we just take each game as it comes and continue playing our game, I’m sure we can do it”.
