Wildcats squad for NatWest T20 fixtures

10 Jun

The Wildcats have named their squad for their upcoming NatWest Women’s County T20 games against Oxfordshire and Worcestershire on Sunday 14th June Bicester and North Oxford Cricket Club.

The most recent squad features a few faces from the squad that played in the 50 over games against Worcestershire and Durham.

Wildcats’ player-coach Kari Carswell’s inclusion will come as a huge boost to the squad with an important summer of T20 cricket ahead, which will culminate in the World T20 World Cup Qualifying campaign in Thailand

The squad welcome back the experience that Rachel Scholes offers, while there are places for current Scotland U17s players Kathryn Bryce and Abtaha Maqsood, after impressing at the recent regional game.

Captain Abbi Aitken is confident with her team’s prospects, “We been pretty competitive in our 50 over games, albeit the Durham game was a huge disappointment, but T20 is a different challenge, and one we are looking forward to.

It’s great to add in Kathryn Bryce and Abtaha to the squad, both are really exciting youngsters and both add something new to bring to the squad dynamics. We want to play an attacking style and I really believe we have a group of players that can do that.

Our bowling and fielding has been really impressive and I’ll be looking for the girls to keep that going.  There is no hiding from the fact that we need to put a complete performance together, but I firmly believe this weekend will be the start of something exciting”.
