The Wildcats are back in ECB County Championship Division 3 action this weekend when they take on Northants at Desborough Town CC on Sunday 7th July.

The Wildcats are in second place in Division 3 and are looking to maintain their winning streak.  Last time out the Wildcats had a well-deserved victory against Gloucestershire, building on previous victories against Derbyshire and Oxfordshire.

There are some enforced changes to the squad, but at the same time the experienced duo of Kari Carswell and Annette Drummond are in for the first time this season and Charlotte Bascombe makes a return after missing on their last match.

The squad are without Elizabeth Priddle, Rachel Scholes and Sam Haggo, but captain Abbi Aitken is satisfied with the squad of 12 that will make the long journey south, “We have been relatively happy with how things have gone this season.  As a squad we have played some really good cricket and hopefully that will continue on Sunday.

Nobody is getting carried away and we are determined to keep on playing positive cricket.   We have a busy month coming up, we have a triple header coming up in the ECB County Championships and then we fly out to Dublin to play 4 T20 games against Thailand and Canada.  It’s an exciting time to be involved.”

After Northants, the Wildcats remaining County Championship games are against Hertfordshire, Hampshire and the Netherlands. The Wildcats will be looking to finish in one of the top two spots for the chance to compete in a play-off in the hope of promotion to Division 2.
