Women's Indoor Tournament

15 Mar

Dollar Academy hosted the latest women’s indoor tournament this weekend.

It was great to see some new teams and some new faces along to the tournament, some playing their first ever game of cricket!

Six teams came from far and wide with 2 teams entered from Moray Cricket Association (MCA), two from Edinburgh University (reds and blues) along with a team from Galloway CC and Stirling County CC.  The format was straightforward with teams getting the opportunity to play each other once, followed by play-off games depending on where teams finished in the league.

The 2 teams from MCA, storm and fire, proved to be tricky opponents for all the teams and in their first national indoor tournament proved to be the real deal!

Galloway and Stirling County played off for the 3rd/4th place, with Galloway getting over the line and winning by 12 runs.

In the final MCA Storm proved too strong for the Edinburgh University reds and ran out winners by 19 runs.

Congratulations to all teams for taking part in the day and thank you to Shelly McGhee (Stirling County) and Stuart Scott (St. Boswells) for ensuring that the day ran smoothly.
