Peter Steindl Biography

‘Peter first came to Scotland in 1991 to take up the position of Professional for Cupar Cricket Club in Fife.  Originally from Beaudesert in South East Queensland he played country cricket for Beaudesert and Grade Cricket for Wests in Brisbane.  He subsequently held Professional positions at Edinburgh Academicals and Corstorphine Cricket Club as well as spending 3 seasons at Grange Cricket Club, two as captain.  He played 28 times for Scotland including captaining the side on two occasions in 2001.  After retiring in 2003 he concentrated on coaching.

He has had 2 stints working for Cricket Scotland amounting to almost 11 years of service.  His jobs have included Development Officer, Community Development Manager and has coached Scotland Under 12, 13, 15, 17 and the Scotland Women’s Team.  Peter was appointed Head Coach for the Scotland Team in December 2007 after a brief period of Joint Caretaker Coach from July 2007.  He is currently completing the ECB Level 4 coaching course.’
