Student Cricket

Student Cricket has a proud history within Scotland

Student cricket offers both indoor and outdoor competitions catering for men and women meaning there is plenty of opportunity to participate while studying for your qualification!

Men's Student Cricket

Currently, both St Andrews and Edinburgh University men compete in The North of England Premier tier against Universities such as Loughborough and Durham.

Aberdeen, Glasgow and Stirling Universities, alongside both 2nd teams from Edinburgh and St Andrews compete in Scottish 1A. Scottish 2A houses Dundee and Robert Gordons College as well as Aberdeen 2nd team, St Andrews 3rd team and Edinburgh 4th team.

Women's Student Cricket

Scottish Women’s Student Cricket is growing rapidly, with both St Andrews and Edinburgh Universities competing in BUCS Northern 1A.

Additionally, Aberdeen and Glasgow Universities have growing soft ball teams looking to compete in a Scottish 1A Women’s League. All Universities compete in the friendly Wee Bash tournaments and have several inter-university competitions during the year.

Each season now also includes the development of both Men's and Women's Scottish Universities National Squads. Both teams play a variety of high-class fixtures, including against the MCC and a joint tour to Cambridge to play against Irish Universities and Cambridge MCCU.
