Richie Berrington is a seasoned campaigner in the Scotland set-up. He is a powerful batsman, scoring his maiden century against Bangladesh as Scotland secured their first T20 victory over a Full Member nation ias he struck his hundred from 56 balls with 5 sixes.
The 29-year old is also a huge asset in the field, where his athletisim at gully is often on display. He was one of Scotland’s first full-time professionals after earning a contract in 2010.
He was an integral part of Scotland’s side that chased down 320 against Ireland at the Grange in 201X with 56 from 23 balls to take the hosts over the line. His first ODI hundred came against Ireland at Malahide in 2014.
Berrington, who now has over 1,000 ODI runs for Scotland, emerged through the Scotland under-15 side, after moving over from Pretoria in his early years.
His early promise was clearly evident and as an 18 year old he was sent to India as part of the ICC’s European Cricket Academy and progressed quickly through the age-group teams.
