Scotland’s international men’s side will face Ireland, the Netherlands and Oman in February next year as part of the first ever T20I series to be played in Oman. The tournament, to be held between 10th and 17th February, will provide Scotland with the perfect start to the year following their recent Winter training camp in La Manga.

Following the announcement by Oman Cricket, Cricket Scotland CEO commented “It’s an exciting and innovative way to play high quality T20 opponents during the off-season and it’s great to renew our rivalry with Ireland and Netherlands again.”

Scotland men’s last T20I ended in success versus the Netherlands with half centuries from Munsey, Cross and Berrington guiding them to an impressive 221 which proved too much for the Dutch side who were bowled out for 106 in 14 overs.

Scotland finished top of the group on that occasion and acting Head Coach Toby Bailey will be looking for a similar result in Oman.

“We are really looking forward to our first series in Oman.” said Bailey.

“The series will provide some very competitive cricket against three quality sides. The tour will give us a chance to implement skills we trained in our recent La Manga training camp.

“We will now focus on developing those skills throughout the winter and look forward to introducing them in Oman.”

Oman Cricket will be announcing the full schedule of matches and venues in the coming weeks.
