We are delighted to announce that the 2018 Men’s 10K will sponsor this year’s CS Challenge Cup.

The season’s First Round Draw has thrown up some interesting and long-distance ties. St Michael from Dumfries will be travelling to Aberdeen to play Grammar School FP while last year’s finalists, Gordonians will travel in the opposite direction to play Kilmarnock. Two clubs who may never have played against each other in the past.

There will be keenly contested ties between East League clubs Marchmont and Kelso and between Victoria and Bon Accord both previous winners of the Small Clubs Cup.

This year’s Final on 12 August will take place at Hamilton Crescent in Glasgow, the home of many Scottish Cup Finals in the past.

About the Men’s 10k

The first Men’s 10K took place in Glasgow in 2004, originally started by the Men’s Health Forum Scotland as a focal point for raising awareness of men’s health issues. The event continues to help thousands of men on their journey to becoming a fitter, healthier and happier people.

Michael Christoforou from the Men’s 10k commented “We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Cricket Scotland and the Challenge Cup competition this year.
Both the Men’s 10K Glasgow in June, and the Men’s 10K Edinburgh in November offer spectacular routes through the heart of two beautiful cities. This, coupled with the incredible atmosphere and camaraderie between runners, results in an event day like no other.”

He added “The life expectancy of men in Scotland is one of the lowest in Europe and the Men’s 10K offers men across Scotland and beyond the chance to lace up their trainers and start to turn these shocking statistics around. We hope that cricketers and non-cricketers alike come and join us on this journey, and maybe raise some money for charity at the same time.”

Paul Macari, Commercial Manager Cricket Scotland said “We are delighted to partner with The Men’s 10k events to be held in Glasgow and Edinburgh this year. The Men’s 10k in Glasgow and Edinburgh are a nice fit for the Challenge Cup competition and we look forward to working together to promote both the Men’s 10K events and the cup competition.”
