Cricket Scotland is delighted to announce a new Women’s Regional Player Development Experience which will offer the opportunity for players to experience overseas cricket.

This new programme, which will be supported by several partner organisations, will involve up to two current regional players being selected to further their cricket experience in either Australia or New Zealand during the winter months.

Providing opportunities for our developing players to experience programmes outside of Scotland is a key element of Cricket Scotland’s strategy to make cricket mainstream and achieve Full Membership of the ICC.

The successful players will be selected from the Stormers and Eagles squads at the conclusion of this year’s regional series.

Commenting on the new initiative, Cricket Scotland High Performance Manager Simon Smith said: “Aligning this programme with our Women’s Regional Series is a perfect fit, as between them they will provide an all-round opportunity for cricketing and personal development both within Scotland’s premier domestic competition and in a competitive environment overseas”.
