Heriot’s look to edge towards title

Heriot’s took a big step towards retaining the Eastern Premier League title in week 15 by defeating closest rivals Fofarshire – and now they want to get over the line in the next three weeks.

This Saturday, in week 16, they make the trip across Edinburgh to Grange Loan to take on fourth placed Carlton.

Skipper Lloyd Brown made 103 not out to lead his charges to the triumph over Forfarshire and for this week’s game Callum Martin, Rory Martin, Tom Bacon and Ewan Hutchison come into their XI.

Ally Evans and Ali Shah return to bolster the Carlton ranks.

Forfarshire will be looking to keep the pressure up on Heriot’s when they take on third placed Gen!us Grange at Forthill.

The home side, who reached the Scottish Cup final last Sunday with a semi-final victory over Watsonians, bring in Fraser Ross with Michael Leask away on Scotland duty. Grange lost at the same stage in the Cup to Ayr.

Fifth placed RH Corstorphine are on the road to eighth placed Stoneywood Dyce.

Hector Roynon-Brown, William Bradley, George West and Sambhav Chadha are added to the RH Corstorphine side for the trip north to Aberdeen.

Stoneywood Dyce have Jon Grant in for Sawan Kumar.

Watsonians are sixth in the table and are travelling to Lochlands to play bottom side Arbroath.

Marc Petrie, Greg Peal and Craig Ross return to the Arbroath side with Wihan Lubbe, Gregor Fraser and Matthew Hurst unavailable.

Ninth placed Falkland host seventh placed Stewart’s Melville at Scroggie Park.

Brock Ditchmen comes into the Falkland XI while Steven Meikle captains in Lyle Robertson’s absence.

Ben Wilkinson and Paddy Ritchie come into the Stewart’s Melville side while their professional Shaylen Pillay will be playing his last game before returning to South Africa.

Saturday, August 13’s fixtures:

Forfarshire v Gen!us Grange (Forthill)

Arbroath v Watsonians (Lochlands)

Falkland v Stewart’s Melville (Scroggie Park)

Stoneywood Dyce v RH Corstorphine (People’s Park)
