Scotland is still searching for its first win of the U19 Cricket World Cup thanks to an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe in Potchefstroom.
Losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Scotland pulled together their highest total of the tournament so far as Kess Sajjad struck a 71-ball 68 on Scotland’s way to 140 all out – a battling effort having been reduced to 42/5 in the 13th over.
In reply, Sean Fischer-Keogh again struck early to remove opener Wesley Madhevere for 14 before Tadiwanashe Marumani (85) and Milton Shumba (37*) combined for a 121-run stand to reach the total with ease in the 18th over.
Scotland will return to action on Tuesday, with the opposition to be confirmed at the conclusion of today’s play in the U19 Cricket World Cup.
